SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Health officials are reporting five swine flu-related deaths in the past week in Utah.

The Utah Department of Health said Wednesday the deaths included two women over the age of 65, a woman between 50 and 64, a man between 25 and 39 and another man between 25 and 49.

That brings the number of deaths in Utah related to the H1N1 virus to eight since Aug. 30.

The department also says there have been 274 hospitalizations associated with both the seasonal flu and swine flu this season.

The department says the current level of influenza activity and the number of hospitalizations is considered very unusual for this time of year.
