SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Transit Authority will cut service and reduce routes next year to deal with a smaller budget.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, UTA approved a nearly $185 million budget for next year -- down from more than $199 million this year.

To make up the difference, the agency cut an executive incentives account in half, limited the number of new people it will hire and put a freeze on raises.

UTA also plans to reduce service when ridership is low and cancel service on two holidays.
