HOLLADAY -- A gas leak forced the evacuation of a Salt Lake County elementary school Monday morning.

The leak was discovered in the boiler room of Morningside Elementary at 4170 S. 3000 East just before classes started.

Students who were already in the building were taken to an LDS church next to the school, and parents dropping their children off were instructed to take them there as well.

Crews from Questar shut off the gas.

The kids were allowed back into their classrooms by 10 a.m.
