SALT LAKE CITY, Jan 19, 2007 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Police in Utah are searching for three pregnant teenagers who escaped from a group home after assaulting the director and stealing her car.

Police say the girls hit the director over the head with a frying pan before tying her up and leaving The New Hope Maternity Home in her car, KTVX-TV, Salt Lake City, reports.

Spencer Moody who runs the home in American Fork with his wife says dozens of girls have stayed with them without any trouble.

He thinks the three teens just wanted to go home.

The three girls are from Texas, California and Illinois.
