PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Desperate for tickets to see your favorite star at their Sundance Film Festival premiere? Online auction site eBay may be the answer. Or maybe not.
Sundance officials say they are "scanning eBay" and cracking down on ticket sales.
Sundance warns that tickets resold online can be remotely deactivated before the film's showing.
Festival spokesman Patrick Hubley says they have contacted some sellers and informed them of the festival's policy
This afternoon, two tickets to the first screening of the movie "Waitress" staring Keri Russell sold for $385.
The Sundance Film Festival begins Thursday and runs through January 28th with film screenings in Park City, Ogden, Sundance and Salt Lake City.
On January 29th and 30th, Sundance presents free screenings for locals of films that won awards at the festival. Tickets to the "Best of Fest" screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis today and tomorrow at festival box offices.
There's a two tickets per person limit.
