It's so interesting to hear how an experience, particularly a significant one, can impact someone's life. For Brian Thomas, it cemented his career choice.
At the age of 15, Brian was in a terrible motorcycle accident that broke three vertebrae in his back. He went the traditional route of visiting doctors, physical therapists and taking pain medication until one day someone recommended to his father that he should visit a chiropractor. The solution worked better than anyone could have imagined, and Brian's entire life changed. His body healed and his pain was completely gone — and he decided to become a chiropractor himself.
Today, Dr. Thomas' Sandy practice, Willow Creek Chiropractic, specializes in removing pressure on someone's nerve, which enables the body to heal itself. He treats the cause of the problem, not the symptom. If you had a rock in your shoe that was causing you pain, you wouldn't take a pain pill to get rid of the symptom, would you? Taking the rock out of your shoe would be the right solution. If you have pain that keeps coming back after the pills wear off, it may be time to discover the true cause of the pain instead of covering it up.
Many patients at Willow Creek Chiropractic have herniated discs, chronic back or neck pain, or are hoping to avoid surgery. Some come as a last resort to avoid surgery. He has a 99 percent success rate; in the 23 years his practice has been in operation, Brian says he was unable to save only 13 patients from surgery.
Too many people choose to hide their pain with medications instead of seeking its cause. Finding and fixing the source of the pain can change someone's life. In addition to chiropractic services, Willow Creek Chiropractic also offers massage therapy and laser treatments to help patients with the healing process. Brian hopes to continue impacting patients throughout Utah by introducing them to the benefits of chiropractic care.
