Paul Nelson, KSL Newsradio There may be a change in momentum for or against a new soccer stadium in Sandy. Potential sponsor Goldman Sachs says they haven't made any commitment yet, but county council members are changing.
County officials say they knew Goldman Sachs would likely not sign off on the plan until Salt Lake County's Debt Review Committee agreed also. But those committee members are changing.
Joe Hatch, Salt Lake County Councilman: "The two people that I know are going off were very, very opposed to the deal in their public comments."
Hatch says they're waiting for an independent consultant review before the committee will consider the deal. These consultants are expected to be critical of the plan.
Joe Hatch: "We have two very good, two very different, but realistic views of the future."
Hatch says the consultants are the same ones who told them not to fund upgrading Franklin Covey Field.
