(KSL News) The Humane Society of Utah set a couple records last year.
The shelter placed more than 61-hundred dogs and cats with families. That's an increase of nearly four percent over 2005, which was a record year.

It also sterilized almost 10-thousand animals. That's up nearly six percent and also a new record.

The shelter places about 90 percent of its animals and hopes within the next year or so to eliminate the need for euthanasia altogether.
