Students take on trucking company in reading contest

AMERICAN FORK -- Students at a Utah County elementary school heard an unusual reading challenge. That blast from a big rig was a rallying call to read.

Students at Forbes Elementary walked out on the playground to see a spruced up 18-wheeler parked on the playground this week.

Can the students read more minutes than the trucking company drives miles? That's the goal.

Students at the school take part in the Ken Garff Road to Success program. KSL sponsors the program, and we think this could be a good contest.

Students last year read more than 3 million minutes.
