BOUNTIFUL -- Bountiful police are searching for a parole fugitive who escaped during an overnight chase.

The pursuit ended near Larson Drive and about 500 South.

Police spotted Robert Wingo near 100 South and 400 East, but he sped off when officers tried to pull over his car.

A short time later the vehicle hit a fire hydrant. Three passengers jumped out of the car and Wingo continued driving until he came to a dead end in the road. He got out and ran.

Police dogs lost his scent near Bountiful High School.
