Paul Nelson ReportingIs it too soon to throw out your Christmas tree? Salt Lake County doesn't think so. People in unincorporated parts of the county can get rid of them pretty easily.
It's a glorious reminder of the holiday. A lasting symbol of the spirit the season can bring.
All right, it's now time to throw it out.
Denny Mecham: "You just put your tree out next to your garbage can on the normal service day, and we'll pick it up."
Salt Lake County Sanitation Director Denny Mecham says if they don't pick up your tree right away, don't worry. They'll get it eventually.
Denny Mecham: "It really gets busy about the second or third week in January."
Mecham says not all areas of the county have curbside service. But, other cities have drop-off locations. You may want to throw out your tree before I do, which is usually in April.
