This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

There's nothing quite like beautiful design and comfortable furniture to give a room a homey and welcoming appearance. Gerri Collett and her daughter Jacquie Zuro are happy to provide both.

Jacquie tells me that an appreciation for furniture is deeply embedded in her genes. Her mother's grandparents and her parents were both in the furniture business. It was only natural that Jacquie developed the desire to enter the industry. Both she and her mother had always wanted to run a high-end furniture store that would work with interior designers. The result of their desire was Guild Hall, which opened in 1989.

The store started out as a wholesaler for the interior design trade, but it later expanded into retail. Today, Guild Hall, located on Highland Drive in Holladay, offers all types of home furnishings, case goods, bedroom sets, occasion tables and furniture/upholstery items. Many of these are unique to the company, and its collection is quite eclectic with everything from contemporary to old world styles.

Guild Hall also offers a full design service. Four on-staff designers can complete any size job, from residential to commercial, and Jacquie says her staff members are all highly qualified. Outside designers are also welcome to utilize Guild Hall's collection of beautiful and unique furniture. Jacquie emphasizes helping clients with all aspects of a design project so their room can be complete.

In the future, Jacquie and Gerri both hope to see the interior design side of their business continue to grow. In the current economy, many of their customers are working with a strict budget, and having a designer help with a project can actually be more economical than trying to do it themselves. Guild Hall is distinguished by its eclectic selection of furniture, talented staff and upbeat environment.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
