PARK CITY -- A man from Australia put everything he had up for sale on eBay to start over. He also decided he'd come up with a list of 100 things he'd like to do and gave himself 100 weeks. In Park City Saturday, Ian Usher crossed No. 54 off of that list.
Usher has done more in a lifetime than most of us could do in two or three, but that's the point.
Goal 54 was flying down the comet at Utah's Olympic Park. He's also ridden the Wall of Death in England, which is riding a motorcycle in a vertical tunnel; and he dove deep in the waters off of Italy to see the statue "Christ the Deep."
But his most daring and frightening goal accomplished? "I was in Spain about a month ago for the running of the bulls in Pamplona, which is the scariest thing I've ever done," he said.
Usher admits he's a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Fans and followers can follow him as he travels the world crossing off his to-do list on his website, 100 goals 100 weeks.
"It's not as easy as it appears. There's a lot of organization. Financially, I have to be very careful because I only have a limited amount of money," Usher said.
After his bobsled run in Park City, he's off to England to jump off of a very high pier, wearing, in his words, "a very fancy dress costume." After that he aims to climb seven of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks in seven days.
But perhaps his most important goal is raising thousands of dollars for charity.
