I think the winter games are so dynamic and have so much energy, even curling (apologies to my Canadian friend and colleague Greg Wrubell). And it may be because I had such a good time when Salt Lake hosted the winter games in 2002. I got to see several events and a couple of concerts at the metals plaza. So I am very much looking forward to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver next year.
It will be another winter games in which Utah's Olympic legacy will play a role. That's because athletes from around the world are coming here to train. From the Winter Sports Park to the Kearns Speed Skating Oval, some of the best athletes in winter sports are here getting ready for Vancouver in 2010. And Tim Prestson, the U.S. Fly Freestyle head Aerial Coach, told us on the air that the U.S. team is looking great.
So to the people who argued the Utah Olympics would be a huge waste of money and a financial albatross for years to come.... nanner nanner nanner!
