BUTTERFIELD CANYON -- A 42-year-old woman was seriously injured Thursday night after falling off of a horse.
She was riding in Butterfield Canyon in the extreme southwest part of the Salt Lake Valley.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says the woman was either thrown or fell from the horse, and then the horse stepped on her abdomen.
Rescuers believe the suffered serious internal injuries. She was flown by helicopter to the hospital.
