It was a hair-raising day at a Syracuse Elementary School, and all to support a student battling cancer.
Last month, Cook Elementary DARE officer, Stan Penrod, promised to shave his head if students raised 500 dollars to help sixth grader Indie Dunlap and her family while she undergoes chemotherapy.
Well, the school raised more than two thousand dollars, and today Indie got to do the honors.
Jason Dunlap, Indie's father: This has been amazing! This is heart warming. It's a miracle. It's great that our community has come out and supported us in such big numbers that we didn't expect."
Several others also participated by having their heads shaved, and one teacher donated her hair to locks of love.
