OREM -- Police in Orem have captured an exotic bird that escaped yesterday after a freeway accident knocked down the fence where it was kept.
The bird, a Cassowary, is similar to an emu, but is potentially aggressive and can be dangerous to people.
Friday night it was found in a run-down backyard shed about a half mile from where it escaped.
Andy Thorup, with the Orem Police Department, said, "We haven't got close to it. Our plan of action right now is just to leave it alone."
The bird's owner brought in a section of fence, to keep the Cassowary contained in the shed until he can move it back to his property.
