CEDAR FORT, Utah (AP) -- The National Transportation Safety Board says pilot error likely led to a plane crash in Utah County that killed two people last year.
The NTSB's final report, made public last week, says the probable cause of the Oct. 28 crash was the pilot's failure to maintain an adequate airspeed or angle of attack to avoid a stall or spin during an aerobatic maneuver.
The pilot and owner of the homemade plane was David Arthur Silfvast, 62, of Salt Lake City. The passenger was David Fay Edgerly, 71, of Lecanto, Fla.
The NTSB said witnesses to the crash saw the airplane performing a series of aerobatic maneuvers at a low altitude.
