SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Search and rescue crews helped hikers in two different canyons on Saturday.

First, two men hiked up the north face of Mount Olympus and got stuck on a face of ice. Search and rescue was called out.

A helicopter lowered four rescuers onto the ridge of the mountain. Sgt. Travis Skinner of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office said, "They had to rappel down the canyon approximately 2,000 feet to get to the victims."

The rescue operation lasted several hours, but crews brought the men down the mountain safely.

While that rescue was under way, the team was called to another incident, this one in Little Cottonwood Canyon. A woman had fallen and broke her ankle.

Crews brought her to safety, as well.
