(KSL Nes) -- Students "stuffed" a van full of stuffed animals this afternoon at Washington Elementary School in Bountiful.
The students set out to collect 100 stuffed animals to donate to Primary Children's Hospital and were ecstatic when they exceeded their goal with 740.
Elise Vandersteen, Stuffed Animal Drive Organizer: "It makes me feel happy because then the kids can have stuffed animals, and it might make them feel more happy when they're at the hospital."
Primary Children's is grateful for the gesture.
Marie Hendriksen, Gifts and Kinds Specialist: "It warms my heart. They're thinking outside themselves, they're doing things for others."
The toys will be given to patients in the emergency room, the cancer ward and the newborn intensive care unit.
