WEST VALLEY CITY -- A domestic dispute ended in a stabbing in West Valley City. Police say a man and woman were arguing in their home last night when the fight became physical.
That's when the man grabbed a knife and began stabbing the victim.
All of this happened as the couple's two children slept nearby.
"We've got the children now, and we're going to release them to responsible family members. The children didn't witness it, not that I know of," Sgt. Brock Hudson of the West Valley City Police Department said.
The woman was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition with wounds to her head, arms and abdomen.
The man, Julio Martinez, was arrested as he tried to flee the scene and now faces a charge of attempted homicide.
