As Election Day approaches, KSL encourages every eligible voter in Utah to make the effort and take the time to go to the polls tomorrow.

There are good reasons to do it.

Foremost, it's a civic responsibility! Elections are at the very core of democracy. By casting ballots, Americans choose their leaders, decide vital issues and determine the nature of their government. As is always the case, the future of America, the state and each community is at stake and every citizen has opportunity to have a say in how it will go.

At the national level are questions about which major party will be in the majority to set the legislative agenda. At the state level, tight battles are brewing in key legislative races. And at the local level, voters will determine who'll run their communities, spend a large portion of their tax dollars and be responsible for filling their symbolic as well as actual potholes.

Several critical one-time issues also await voter input.

And this year there is something new in the way ballots will be cast. The age of electronic voting has arrived, and that brings a certain novelty that ought to entice voters to give it a try.

Yes, plenty of good reasons to go to the polls tomorrow and vote. KSL urges you to do it!
