In some cases, appearances can be deceiving. But at Good Day Baked Goods and Catering in Salt Lake City, the food the company serves at corporate events and weddings tastes just as good as it looks.
Owner Christine Mason and her creative staff are passionate about providing great food and service while doing their best to make sure clients' events are perfect in every way. As an owner/chef, Christine does a lot of her own cooking, so she oversees all details. Using only the highest-quality ingredients, the Good Day staff can provide everything from pastries and coffee to full-service plated dinner receptions.
Christine tells me she grew up in food service, starting work at the age of 13 in Northern Michigan. Years later her husband built a full-service car wash in West Jordan, and he convinced Christine to open a pastry shop on site. Her delectable creations were so popular that clients began requesting that Christine deliver lunches to their offices. At that point, she realized her growing business needed a new home so she moved to her present location on Third Avenue in Salt Lake City.
Good Day Baked Goods and Catering has a full-service bakery and offers daily lunch specials. But catering is their specialty. Full-service catering for corporate events and weddings is in high demand. Christine's clientele has included such high-profile clients as Ballet West, the Museum of Fine Arts and the University of Utah.
Being honest, working hard and striving for new dishes is pulling Good Day through these tough economic times. Together with her staff, she has built up a steady stream of clients who enjoy her "made from scratch" local flavors.
