SALT LAKE COUNTY -- A traffic accident has closed a section of Interstate 80 near the mouth of Parley's Canyon.

The Utah Highway Patrol says two cars collided near the Interstate 215 exit from eastbound I-80; one of them rolled over. Troopers say one person died and three others suffered serious injuries.

The Eastbound on-ramp to I-80 at 1300 East is closed, and motorists are being made to exit I-80 at the 2300 East off-ramp.

Troopers say someone apparently fled the scene of the accident. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is helping search for that person now with K-9 units.
