OGDEN -- A gas leak shut down a major road in Ogden. Crews were digging along Wall Avenue near 12th street Wednesday when they accidentally sliced through a three-quarter-inch line.
The Ogden Standard Examiner reports that two businesses were evacuated and the road was closed while the gas was shut off and the line was repaired. No injuries were reported, and the road is now reopened.
In Salt Lake, the intersection at 500 South and Guardsman Way is still closed. Crews are still working to repair a broken gas line that caused the evacuation of several buildings on Tuesday.
Thousands of people, including all University of Utah students, had to evacuate after the 6-inch line was punctured by a crew installing fiber optic lines.
