Each day as students arrive at school, they see the words, "A World Class High School," right under the name Lone Peak High School. Lone Peak students have taken that goal to heart.
Their mission statement, "Committing Minds to Inquiry, Hearts to Compassion, and Lives to the Service of Mankind" and their Shields of Honor Program which encourages good character values, have helped create a unique attitude at the 5A school in Highland since it opened in 1997.
The school is adorned with positive quotes on the walls, medieval type flags, a large knight towering over the Commons and references to principles of honor.
The Knights established themselves early on as an athletic powerhouse in 4A and then 5A earning 79 region championships and 23 state championships to date.
By offering 24 advanced placement classes, administering over 1000 AP tests each year, one result has been $3.2 million offered in scholarships to Lone Peak students in 2008. LP students consistently establish themselves as leaders among Utah youth.
