(KSL News) An attempt to avoid a serious accident still comes to a tragic end.
A motorcycle was driving south on 3300 South near 900 West, when a car suddenly turned in front of the bike.
The driver of the motorcycle laid the bike down to avoid a collision.
The passenger on the motorcycle, 22-year-old Melissa Wilde, was taken to the hospital where she later died. The man driving the motorcycle walked away.
Neither the victim nor the driver were wearing a helmet.
Police are now searching for the driver of the car who turned in front of them.
