MURRAY -- The Utah Board of Pardons and Paroles has voted to grant parole to MaCall Petersen, 21. She will be paroled on Dec. 22, after serving 45 months of a possible 60-month sentence.

She was convicted of negligent homicide and desecration of a body.

Petersen was doing drugs with Amelia Sorich in June 2005 and admitted she injected her friend with drugs. Sorich collapsed in the kitchen and, instead of calling police, Petersen and Jason Calacino took her body to the hills above Bountiful and left her there.

She will be under parole supervision for 15 months until her sentence expires on March 25, 2011.

Calacino was sentenced to 1 year in jail and 36 months probation.
