Pin a reminder for friendship, mammograms

In memory of Marissa, a sister-in-law who died from breast cancer, Marietta-based jeweler Alisa Unger designed the "Me and My Two Friends" jewelry collection. The three-ribbon design is based on a pink ribbon, the symbol for breast cancer awareness. The jewelry, such as this Conviction pin ($1,175), contains 14-karat white and pink gold accented with tiny diamonds. All profits from the sale of the jewelry will benefit the Me and My Two Friends Foundation for Breast Cancer Education Awareness.

Unger hopes the name of the collection will prompt women to schedule their annual mammograms and encourage two friends to do the same. Buy the jewelry at D. Geller & Son. For information: 770-955-5995.

New Balance has designed "Lace Up for the Cure," a collection of pink-accented footwear, apparel and accessories for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The athletic shoes feature an embroidered pink ribbon on the tongue and come packaged in boxes lined with pink tissue. The shoe shown here (style No. W801KP) is $55. Every purchase of $25 or more comes with a donation form. Send that to New Balance as proof of purchase, and the company will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, up to $175,000. Buy the footwear at New Balance Atlanta in Buckhead. For information, call 404-467-1312.
