Can you tell me what is the most common date the Wasatch Front gets two or more inches of snow in the valley?
thanks, Jordan J

We don't keep records of when the first two inches of snow falls but the average first measurable snow (.1 inches or more) is November 6th.
October though can hold some good records, on the 17 and 18th of 1984, Salt Lake saw 18.4 inches of snow! This actually ranks 5th in snow from a single storm here in the city.
October 11, 1997 saw .3 inches of snow and in 1966 on October 13th, we had 3.6 inches!
The actual average of October snow is 2.1 inches, this is just a calculated averages of all Octobers past including the years that had heavy snow. Typically in late October we can snow large storms but still, the average is November 6th for the first measurable amount.
