(KSL News) A St. George man accused of stabbing his girlfriend's baby in 2004 has been sentenced to prison.
After pleading no contest to attempted first-degree murder, Valentin Echevarria has been ordered to serve five years to life in prison.
The judge also ordered Echevarria to pay the medical bills of the child who has now recovered from his stab wounds.
Police say Echevarria stabbed the bady while holding him hostage during a standoff with police.
