I have talked on this program before about how I love trying new restaurants. I particularly enjoy Mexican cuisine, especially when the menu offers fresh, healthy options. So I'm thrilled with my most recent discovery in Tacos Nacos Taqueria.
Samuel Campos co-owns the Sandy restaurant with his wife, Aide. Starting a restaurant was something he always intended to do. Most of his extended family is in the business, so he was exposed to the profession from a young age. He spent 12 years working in his aunt's eatery in the Bay Area where he started developing the concept for his own restaurant, but it wasn't until a little more than a year ago that Samuel and Aide opened Tacos Nacos Taqueria.
Tacos Nacos specializes in fresh Mexican cuisine. Of course, tacos are some of the eatery's top sellers, particularly the fish tacos and the camerones rancheros, or shrimp tacos simmered in the Campos' special ranchero sauce and cooked with tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. Enchiladas with homemade sauce, tamales and nachos are also popular choices. And the menu also offers several items just for kids.
It's only been a year since Samuel launched Tacos Nacos, but he says it's been well received so far. He is considering adding more items to his menu, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Samuel and Aide both feel strongly about providing a clean and enjoyable experience every time a customer walks into their taqueria. They work hard to keep the lobby and restrooms immaculate. And as for the food — Samuel says the fresh Mexican cuisine at Tacos Nacos Taqueria speaks for itself.
