Utah-USU 2009 football date changed

Press ReleaseUtah's home football game against Utah State next fall has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 3. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5.

"We asked Utah State officials if they were willing to change the date of the game to accommodate fans who want to take advantage of the long Labor Day weekend and USU agreed to move the game to Thursday," said assistant athletics director Zack Lassiter, who oversees Utah's football scheduling.

Utah's non-conference schedule is now complete, although times will be determined by the Mountain West Conference, which typically releases the league's composite schedule the first week in April.

Utah's 2009 non-conference schedule:
Thursday, Sept. 3, Utah State, Salt Lake City
Saturday, Sept. 12, at San Jose State, San Jose, Calif.
Saturday, Sept. 19, at Oregon, Eugene, Ore.
Saturday, Sept. 26, Louisville, Salt Lake City

Utah State's 2009 non-conference schedule:
Thursday, Sept. 3, at Utah, Salt Lake City
Saturday, Sept. 19, at Texas A&M,College Station, Texas
Saturday, Sept. 26, Southern Utah, Logan
Friday, Oct. 2, at BYU, Provo
