Can the "green revolution" set up shop at Salt Lake's Intermodel Hub? The Utah Transit Authority is organizing a community meeting tonight to find out.
UTA thinks there ought to be a spot to park at least 80 bicycles at the Intermodel Hub. "Everybody won't be parking their bike at the same time, so we could have up to 150 people with bicycles parking at different times," explained UTA spokeswoman Carrie Bohnsack-Ware.
Bohnsack-Ware says there might even be space to rent about 35 bicycles, plus a café and diner. But where will the money come from to put a roof over those bikes?
"The bicycling community, it could come from partners there. It could come, you know, a portion from everybody," Bohnsack-Ware said. She says it is all up in the air.
Tonight's meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Salt Lake City and County Building. [Click here for more information on the meeting].
