LONDON, Oct 8, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A British fan of the musical "Les Miserables" planned to celebrate its 21st year in London by seeing it for the 739th and 740th time.
Sally Frith of Kings Stanley in Gloucestershire had tickets for Saturday's matinee and evening show at the Queen's Theater in London.
"Someone recommended going to see 'Les Miserables' 18 years ago. I got hooked and I've been going ever since," Frith told the Daily Mail. "I've spent just under 30,000 pounds ($56,000), including food, travel and hotels. I don't drink or smoke, I've got no vices apart from the theater."
The musical opened in London in 1985. This weekend, it becomes the longest-running musical in the history of London theater, passing "Cats," also by musical impresario Andrew Lloyd Weber.
Frith said she plans to keep going to "Les Miserable" as long as it is available, even though ticket prices have quadrupled since the first time she saw it.
