(KSL News) -- Over a thousand kids got something they had never had before today: Bikes, along with helmets, of course.
Bikes for Kids gives bikes to kids who normally couldn't afford them. Volunteers taught the kids how to ride, and they got to race on their new wheels.
For some, it'll be the first bike they've ever owned.
Debbie Reid Chair & Founder, Bikes FOR Kids : "I think most people can remember what it was like when they got their first bike and I wanted that for all children."
Governor Huntsman and his wife came out to welcome the kids.
