(KSL News) -- "My Wish for You" became more than just a homecoming theme for Taylorsville High School students.

When the cheerleading squad found out 16-year old Rachelle Perkins, who has Downs Syndrome, has always wanted to be a cheerleader, they decided to make her wish come true. At today's homecoming assembly Rachelle received a set of pom-poms, a uniform and an invitation to be an honorary cheerleader.

Diane Perkins, Rachelle's mom: "I'm ecstatic, I'm like three feet off the ground and so is she."

Rachelle Perkins, Honorary cheerleader: "We're gonna cheer tonight."

Rachelle will cheer with the squad at tonight's homecoming game.
