The driver of a dump truck involved in a fatal crash in Tooele County last month now faces an automobile homicide charge.

In court papers, the county prosecutor contends 43-year-old Steven Jakeman was legally drunk and driving on a suspended license when he failed to yield to a UPS truck headed south on state Route 36.

Jakeman's dump truck collided with the UPS truck, and the force of the wreck mangled both vehicles. Alan Christofferson, the 54-year-old driver of the UPS truck, died at the scene.

Jakeman faces up to five years in prison if he is convicted of the automobile homicide charge.
