(KSL News) The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who stole a woman's purse and used the contents of her purse to make several purchases.

On Dec. 23, the 83-year-old woman returned home from shopping. She was taking things out of her vehicle, when a man approached her and asked her for directions.

She began to give him directions, and that's when he ripped her purse away from her and fled in a ‘90s to early 2000 model Subaru Forester driven by another man.

Salt Lake County sheriff's deputy Levi Hughes said the men went to several stores and purchased several items using the woman's credit cards.

The sheriff's office is hoping someone will recognize the men in the surveillance pictures. If you recognize them, you are urged to contact the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office at 743-7000.
