(KSL News) -- A smoky fire forced several hundred people out of theatres, stores and restaurants at the Gateway tonight.
Firefighters were called just before seven to reports of smoke barreling out of a building.
Asst. Chief Dennis McKone, Salt Lake City Fire Dept.: "What it did turn out to be was a dumpster fire located in dock three, building number three on dock three which did fill several restaurants, several stores with smoke."
Movie-goers were also evacuated. It was business as usual once the smoke cleared.
No word yet on what started the dumpster fire.
