(KSL News) For the first time today, UTA riders paid for their fares with a mere tap of their credit card with contactless chip technology.
The transit agency has launched a new electronic fare collection system. Riders just need to tap their credit or debit cards on an electronic reader when they board and then one more tap when they exit.
The system is available for commuters who ride TRAX, FrontRunner and all buses.
However, only skiers got to take advantage of the new system today because only ski buses operated for New Year's.
