Mary Richards reporing Some Sugarhouse residents say it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured - or worse - in their neighborhood.
Over the weekend a car came flying through the stop sign at 17th East, clipped another car, then crashed into a house on Stratford Avenue (2585 S). Two people went to the hospital. Scott Sorensen says the sad thing is, he's not surprised by it.
"They don't pay attention to the posted speed limit, so they just fly by and do whatever they need to do," said Sorensen. "People turning left and right, people don't stop. Close calls."
Residents say cars come speeding south on 17th from Highland High School. Others go speeding west on Stratford to I-80. Sorensen has been asking the city to put in a four-way stop, but the city told him there weren't enough serious accidents to warrant one. Now residents wonder if someone has to die here to get something done.
