SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An 18th case of E. coli linked to spinach has been reported in Utah.
The latest case is in Utah County, said Cody Craynor, spokesman for the Utah Department of Health.
More than 170 people have been sickened in the nation's E. coli outbreak. A Wisconsin woman died, and two other deaths are being investigated for a firm link to the illness.
On Saturday, the health department said E. coli was confirmed in a bag of Dole spinach that was purchased in Salt Lake County.
Federal and state officials have traced the outbreak to contaminated spinach from California's Monterey, San Benito and Santa Clara counties. The region produces more than half the nation's spinach crop.
