THE PORCH — Everyone has heard of porch pirates, or thieves who steal packages from people's porches and driveways. But what about their much more adorable, fluffy, innocent-looking contemporaries, pup pirates?
You read that right.
What if Fido down the street has secretly been snagging and stashing your Amazon deliveries? Well, a doorbell video from a Texas residence captured that exact scenario, showing a cute dog walking up to the porch, assessing its options, then calmly prancing away with its chosen package.
Now, whether this behavior was trained or whether this particular criminal canine has a shady, thieving side that only comes out when the humans are at work remains unanswered.
Now, perhaps my criminal allegation is a bit too far. It's possible the package contained a shipment of Milk Bones, Beggin' Strips or another irresistible treat, in which case the bad behavior can be more accurately attributed to raw, animalistic instinct rather than malicious intent.
For now, though, the truth — just like the contents of the package that vanished on that sunny Texas day — remains a mystery.
