MIDDLE EARTH — I'm always down for an epic The Lord of the Rings extended version marathon. I have always maintained those movies are on my deserted island must-have list because they have everything you need in a movie.

And this fan-made trailer proves it — highlighting the comedic moments to make it seem like the trilogy is actually a 2000s comedy and not an epic fantasy.

The attention to detail and new background music make this look like a completely different movie, all while playing some of my favorite scenes. OK, they're all my favorites.

The creator highlighted funny facial expressions I had never noticed and clipped scenes in a way that made even the most terrifying of battles seem like they belong squarely in the comedic version.

I think the best part of the trailer is the creative editing around one of Pipin's best quotes: "You need people of intelligence on this sort of mission, quest, thing."

The trailer follows with a comment from Gandalf that he was "barely involved," with scenes of him being very involved.

The trailer didn't even have time for many of my favorite quotes like Gimli's "that still only counts as one" or Pippin's "what about second breakfast?"

Sorry if watching that video made you feel a need to go start a marathon; I know the feeling.
