SALT LAKE CITY — Power has been restored to thousands of customers in Salt Lake County who lost service for a time, due to an outage on Friday.

Rocky Mountain Power said around 20,000 customers were temporarily without service early Friday afternoon due to the loss of a substation.

According to a Rocky Mountain Power outage map, the issue mostly impacted residents in Holladay and Millcreek.

By 4 p.m., the power company said service had been restored to the impacted customers.

The company did not indicate what led to the substation's failure.
