SALT LAKE CITY — The gradient is back, but it's a little colder.
The team unveiled their 2025 City Edition jerseys Thursday, reviving the beloved gradient design first introduced in 2017 — just with different colors.
Instead of the original sunset orange, the new jersey showcases a grey-to-black gradient accented by light blue trim. The original design symbolized southern Utah's red rock landscapes, while the new look draws inspiration from the state's mountain ranges. (Or, as some fans have been quick to point out, the state's infamous immersions.)
It will be the first primarily grey jersey ever worn by the Jazz.
"Over the next two seasons, we're bringing back a fan-favorite design with a fresh, modern twist," said Chris Barney, president of revenue and commercial strategy at Smith Entertainment Group. "This City Edition jersey celebrates Utah's signature mountain landscapes and the spirit of Mountain Basketball, blending the team's history with a bold new look."
The NBA's new City Edition Remix campaign allows teams to reimagine past designs, and the Jazz chose to refresh one of their most popular looks by updating the colors.
Since its debut, the gradient motif has remained a part of the Jazz's visual identity, with the purple rebrand featuring a minor version of the design. Now, the full gradient makes its return.

The updated design also aligns nicely with the team's Delta Center neighbors — the Utah Mammoth — whose black, white and blue color palette mirrors the new look. That's probably not a coincidence.
The Jazz are scheduled to wear the new jerseys five times this season, beginning on Nov. 11 at home against the Indiana Pacers. The jerseys will also be worn on Dec. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jan. 8 against the Dallas Mavericks, Feb. 12 against the Portland Trail Blazers, and March 23 against the Toronto Raptors.
