A simple gift to a young fan becomes full-circle moment for southern Utah 'trash truck guy'

WASHINGTON, Washington County — What began as a brief exchange between a Washington, Washington County, boy and the man known fondly as the "trash truck guy" turned into a celebration of community kindness.

Every Friday, Cameron Esplin, a garbage truck driver for Republic Services, stops outside of the Hudsons' home in Washington to collect their trash, a very exciting moment for Kodiak "Kodi" Hudson.

Then, at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 22, Hudson said Kodi "got the shock of his life."

Esplin came around the corner of the Hudsons' home with his management team and a whole bag of goodies for Kodi.
