WEST VALLEY CITY — A motorcyclist is in critical condition after crashing on 5600 West, according to police.

The incident happened on Friday at about 7:30 a.m., near 5000 South. Witnesses told police a rider was "splitting lanes and speeding," and when he "cut into one of the lanes," he ran into the back of a car, according to West Valley police.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

No other information was immediately available.
