SALT LAKE CITY — Welcome to the start of the college football season!
We already had some entertaining games in Week Zero and on Thursday night — sorry, Boise State — but the heart of the season kicks off this weekend, and we couldn't be more excited.
As usual, we have our three in-state FBS games to pick this weekend, as well as two national games that should be more than entertaining and could possibly have College Football Playoff implications — yes, we know it's still early.
Up first is No. 1 Texas traveling to Columbus to take on the reigning national champions in No. 3 Ohio State. We then settle in with back-to-back in-state games in the early evening, starting with Utah State welcoming UTEP to Logan and BYU welcoming FCS Portland State to LaVell Edwards Stadium with a new QB.
And then in the late game (get your naps in early) it's Utah traveling to Pasadena to take on a former Pac-12 foe in UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Both teams are looking to bounce back from 5-7 seasons.
Closing out the weekend is a Sunday night game at Hard Rock Stadium between No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 10 Miami.
